DéLana R. A. Dameron

DéLana R. A. Dameron was born on January 30, 1985, in Anderson, South Carolina. She earned a degree in history from the University of North Carolina in 2007 and later received an MFA in poetry from New York University.

Dameron is the author of Weary Kingdom (2017), a Palmetto Poetry Series book edited by Nikky Finney, and How God Ends Us (2009), both from the University of South Carolina Press. Her debut novel, Redwood Court (The Dial Press, 2024), a Reese’s Book Club Pick, was followed by Fairfield County (The Dial Press, 2026). 

Dameron died in Columbia, South Carolina, on November 29, 2025.
