Each year, as a way of celebrating World Creativity and Innovation Week, the Center for CreativeSolutions invites young poets grades K-12 and adults from Lake, Porter, LaPorte, Newton, Jasper, Pulaski, and Starke counties to share their inspired words. This year we will continue our tradition of celebrating our region's creative thoughts and words by hosting a Juried Showcase of Poetry. Our judge, William Allegrezza, will evaluate submitted works and choose the most creative poems from which they will determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place honors at each grade level. The Poetry Showcase culminates in a gathering in mid-April to hear the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place poems read by the poets. Also, we are planning on having top poets read their works on “Art on the Air”, a weekly program on Lakeshore Public Media.
